ANST exists to introduce members to the lifelong sport of cross country skiing through competitive skiing. By building a love of the sport with training, fun, friendships, trips and outdoor activity the members learn to enjoy the sport of Nordic skiing. By using racing the members learn the sport at a high enough level to prepare them for skiing in all the different kind of winter conditions and allows members to develop regular exercise patterns resulting in lifelong skiers.
The team exists as a competitive team in the Wisconsin High School Nordic Ski League. The league provides the venue for high school and middle school racing appropriate for the whole team. We will always work for the best results we can get.
The team is a platform for those members pursuing Junior Olympics to train and reach their personal goals, competing at the highest levels in region. This should be an inspiration and aspiration for all the younger skiers, demonstrating both the fortitude to train and succeed, and showing that it is possible, right here, and it can be fun as well as rewarding.
Each part of this mission is important; and they are complementary in that none fully succeeds without the other.
The club is governed by our bylaws which you can view here.
